Go n-éirí an lá (nó an ghrian!) leat, a Mhichíl. Cé nach féidir liomsa a
bheith ar an gcomhluadar ag Sliabh na Caillí an turas seo, bead ag
smaoineamh oraibhse le breacadh lae anseo agus turas an earraigh bhig
seo á mheabhrú agam.

Alan Stivell

Main Image

One of the greatest Celtic folk musicians, Alan Stivell, plays his first
ever concert in Galway.

From an early age, he designed his first electric harps, wrote a
symphony and began recording his Celtic harp pieces. His extraordinary
1970’s album “Renaissance De La Harpe Celtique” was a cultural
phenomenon which inspired the revival of the harp and celtic music
around the world. Millions of his records have been sold and the modern
revival of Breton music and culture has been due, more than to any other
figure, to his singular influence.

After experimenting with various celtic rock influences, in more recent
years he has returned to his solo harp roots and he remains the most
significant ambassador for Brittany, and its music, on the international
stage.
